I always bought nuts from Blue Diamond Company, but now not only Nuts are in my shopping cart, I also buy their Nut-Thins. They make great breakfast crackers with cream cheese, or/and jam on them but also great to carry them in plastic bags in my car, and bag. I like most their Nut&Rice Crackers but prefer the hazelnut one. Now Stop & Shop even carries this brand.
2 months into my wheat free diet I was so sick of eating terrible bagels, breads, etc. I was dying for a panini or grilled cheese... I was in "Back to Basics" food store in my town and reached into the freezer to try out one more bread brand, an angle came behind me and she said don't buy that, try UDI'S White Bread. I thank that person for giving me back the joy of eating bread again. Dave's Market also carries this product in frozen section now.
Every summer, my kids and I fly to grandparents house. Plane rids gets my stomach upset, so I usually have pretzels in my bag. Wheat-free pretzels are hard to find, I thought. GLUTINO makes the best Pretzel twists. So good, that my kids ate all my bag in the plane.
As a family we grill a lot. you have to be careful with even seasoning when you are avoiding Gluten. Read labels carefully or make your own mixes. Meat Balls on the grill is my favorite. Just slapping ground beef for my burger does not satisfy me. I mix ground beef, onion(grounded), bread crumbs, egg(optional), salt, pepper, cumin, chopped parsley. Mix, shape, grill. YUM! Turkish cuisine calls it "Kofte". To make Kofte I use Aleia's bread crumbs. I have not done crispy chicken patties with it yet. I will let you know when I use this product in a different recipe.
And something sweet; Aleia's Oatmeal & golden raisin. Little too sweet for me (not a big sweet eater) but my husband thinks its perfect. I eat one with black tea no sugar and the sweetness balances itself. Crunchy and tasty.
Let me know what you think of these products, or if you have your favorites, suggestions.
